{"id":436,"date":"2015-03-20T07:45:25","date_gmt":"2015-03-20T07:45:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.friendsmatchme.com\/blog\/?p=436"},"modified":"2015-03-20T08:03:28","modified_gmt":"2015-03-20T08:03:28","slug":"husband-wife-find-out-they-crossed-paths-as-kids-in-home-video-of-theme-park-family-trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.friendsmatchme.com\/blog\/436\/husband-wife-find-out-they-crossed-paths-as-kids-in-home-video-of-theme-park-family-trip\/","title":{"rendered":"Husband, Wife Find Out They Crossed Paths as Kids in Home Video of Theme Park Family Trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a small world. \u00a0Facebook (and Facebook dating app Friends Match Me!) often reminds us of that with the mutual friends feature. \u00a0And sometimes it&#8217;s a small world even when you&#8217;re not really paying attention to it and just enjoying the ride. \u00a0Kind of like the movie &#8220;<a title=\"Sliding Doors movie\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0120148\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sliding Doors<\/a>&#8220;. \u00a0Or &#8220;<a title=\"Serendipity movie\" href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0240890\/?ref_=nv_sr_1\" target=\"_blank\">Serendipity<\/a>&#8220;. \u00a0It&#8217;s nice to think that eventually you will find and connect with who you are meant to be with, your match. \u00a0When the time is right. \u00a0Perhaps it&#8217;s not just nice to think, but actuality.<\/p>\n<p>New Jersey couple, Jourdan and Ryan Spencer found out that they had crossed paths as kids at a theme park 16 years before they had met. \u00a0They were watching Jourdan&#8217;s childhood home videos of her family&#8217;s July 1988 trip to Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. \u00a0<span style=\"color: #333333;\">Jourdan\u2019s mom Janice and sister Gillian were waiting for Jourdan, then 10, to return from a water slide. \u00a0<\/span>And then a boy came into the frame, her future husaband, 13 year old Ryan.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">\u201cI was kind of joking around and said, \u2018Wow, that looks like me,\u2019\u201d Ryan, 40, told ABC News. \u201cAnd sure enough, that was me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">\u201cWe rewound and paused. We rewound and paused, and we just couldn\u2019t believe it,\u201d Jourdan, 36, told ABC News&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt just matched up with the time, how old I was, the big glasses, the hair. You can just tell it\u2019s me,\u201d Ryan said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/PXYGydDCd3k?rel=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And Ryan&#8217;s family\u00a0confirmed it.<\/p>\n<p>Jourdan and Ryan grew up 45 minutes away from each other in New Jersey and officially met on a blind date in April 2004, married in 2007 \u00a0After finding out about the\u00a0theme park chance encounter, they also learned that they were at the same Rolling Stones concert in 1989.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.friendsmatchme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jourdan-ryan-spencer-video.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-442 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.friendsmatchme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jourdan-ryan-spencer-video.jpg\" alt=\"jourdan-ryan-spencer-video\" width=\"588\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.friendsmatchme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jourdan-ryan-spencer-video.jpg 588w, https:\/\/www.friendsmatchme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jourdan-ryan-spencer-video-300x158.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_438\" style=\"width: 237px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.friendsmatchme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jourdan_ryan_spencer_family.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-438\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-438 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.friendsmatchme.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/jourdan_ryan_spencer_family-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"jourdan_ryan_spencer_family\" width=\"227\" height=\"227\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-438\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ryan and Jourdan Spencer, with their children Sophie, 6, Max, 3, and Mabel, 5 months.<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">\u201cWe were meant to be,\u201d Ryan said.<\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic;\">\u00a0&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">\u201cSophie thinks we\u2019re famous. She just doesn\u2019t understand. She asked, \u2018How did daddy know that you were there?\u2019\u201d Jourdan said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333;\">\u201cLife is more than just randomness.
